The debut of the 2023 Beyond Barriers Networking and Tradeshow took place on October 19 at the Jerry Forbes Centre for Community Spirit. This event was meticulously crafted to uplift individuals with disabilities, fostering an environment where support and transformative opportunities converged. This year’s event will be held on September 21, 2024 between 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, at the Jerry Forbes Centre for Community Spirit.

This year we renamed the Beyond Barriers Networking and Tradeshow to YEG Empowering You. This better reflects our commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive experience for the disability community. 

After the success of last year’s event, we are thrilled to announce 2024’s expansion which allows us to accommodate more exhibitors and networking opportunities, ensuring a richer and more immersive experience for all attendees.  Some captivating experiences have been added to this year’s program:

– Colby Jones (aka “Ironfoot”), renowned host and speaker will be emcee

– Culinary Olympic Gold Medal Chef Rahil of Affairs by Rahil will tantalize our taste buds with his exquisite culinary creations

– Award winning international comedic magician Magicman Farley 

– Former Klondike Kate turned Realtor for accessible spaces, Susan Janzen, providing musical entertainment

– Free massages provided by Alberta College of Massage Therapy

– to commemorate the spirit of the event, the iconic High Level Bridge will be illuminated on September 19

– We are giving away many door prizes, such as Edmonton Elks game tickets, massages and so much more! 

We have many exciting surprises in store, promising an unforgettable experience.
